We are Bigger Heart Zanzibar, a growing charity based in Wales. We work with children and young people in Zanzibar, Tanzania and are always thinking of new projects that can help our target demographic. The Charity began in 2009, when Nawal, one of the co-founders decided to share she had witnessed on her trip to Zanzibar with her school.
Bigger Heart is still in a developmental stage and seeks volunteers from any background. We depend on the skills and knowledge of people to push the dreams and aspirations forward.
As a volunteer, you’ll not only get to explore parts of Zanzibar, but also form connections with the children. One of our aims is to ensure that the students get to wind down and enjoy themselves after a long day of school. This is part of our well-being schemes.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved. You’ll get experience first hand what we do and form a connection with the young people of Zanzibar.
One of the main objectives of the charity is helping children in education. We sponsor children so that they have the opportunity to attend school.
One of our main focuses is helping children and young people suffering with heart conditions in Zanzibar. We also conduct fun activities for students.
The connection between Zanzibar and Wales is something that is very important to us. Our cultural exchange project helped students learn about one another.
